Our mission is to provide an innovative, student-centered learning environment that fosters academic growth, creativity, and personal development. We believe in the power of personalized education, where every child’s unique talents, interests, and needs are met through play-based, project-based, and nature-focused learning.

Our vision is to build a network of microschools that serve as thriving hubs of learning and community, where students are empowered to explore their passions, develop essential life skills, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning. We aim to create spaces where every child feelsvalued, supported, and prepared for the future—whether that’s college, a career, or entrepreneurship.
Our Story
Since launching in 2020, Burbrella Microschools has received national recognition for our innovative approach to education. In 2023, we proudly became semifinalists for the prestigious Yass Prize, which recognizes excellence in education and the transformative impact of schools that challenge traditional norms. We’ve also been awarded multiple grants from the VELA Education Fund, which has enabled us to expand our programs and reach even more learners across North Carolina. These grants have allowed us to innovate and scale, bringing our personalized learning model to students who seek a more tailored and engaging educational experience. Our founder has been featured on numerous panels across the country sharing our schools founding story, journey, innovative practices and sustainability methods.
